More Yard Stuff

Well, we're making progress on the backyard! Most of my plants have come up and now they just need to grow :) Dave made the water fountain - one of the perks of marrying an engineer :) Fortunately we had all the rocks in our backyard - he discovered them while digging posts for the fence (UGH) so that whole fountain was $100; we Sanderson's LOVE good deals :) We're going to plant some flowering evergreen plants around the fountain to make it look less like a pile of rocks. We probably won't try to reseed the grass until fall since it is in the high 90s/100s here. I can't wait to go out and enjoy it!!!

Our curvy beds newly mulched - can you see the plants coming up? The whole back is hardy perrenial lilies, then the front is blazing star liatris. There are also daylilys and columbine and butterfly bushes in there too. I've already seen two butterflys within the last two days in our yard :) It used to be all dirt on the side yard, but Dave put in decomposed granite. It will get as hard as concrete, but a lot cheaper and less time. I envision this area being my potting area and plant cemetary.

Looks Great! You guys have worked hard! Charlie will appreciate it this winter when he's all mobile and able to run around out there!
