November 2014

Happy November!  This means the rest of the year is going to FLY by!

We started out the month with Charlie being the student of the week.  This is the poster he had to fill out.

I was making pollo asada for dinner and the boys wanted to help.  Benny dug out the avocados from their skin and Charlie cut the cheese.  Yes...he loved telling Dave he cut the cheese when he got home.  Oh,boy humor I will never understand you.

Veteran's Day Parade:
We got our spot, now we're just waiting for it to start.
 Here comes the marching band.

 True was entertained :)
Jenny and Kody came with their 4 kids and Tyler and Dana came with their 3.

A miniature pony came by to visit True.

It is such a neat parade and I love that it's purpose is to celebrate the veterans.  It would be so neat if we could get Poppy up here so he could be in it too!

Harvest Get Together at the Browns:
 Hay ride!
Yep, that is what Truman's face looked like for a week.  I had been working on curtains for the dining room and he pulled the ironing board (not including the iron) down on his face.  Then about an hour later he was running around and fell right into the corner of the wall which is the mark on his forehead.  Poor kid.  He didn't cry hard or long for either of them, but boy he looks rough.

 Bonfire

I got to watch Rachel while Jenny had conferences for her kids.  True was very attentive :)

Dave's uncle Royce passed away after a fairly short battle with brain cancer.  We drove down to southern California to attend his memorial service.  He was such a great man of God.  They think 400 people attended his service-he touched the lives of many.

While we were down, we of course stayed with my parents.  My mom retires in December so it was the last time we were going to get to visit her at work.

Visiting Dave's Grandparent's house
 The Sanderson Men! 4 generations.

 Mamaw with her great-grand sons.
Uncle Rich and Charlie with Aunt Dal in the back.  Uncle Rich lifted Charlie up by his head, so uncle Rich is his favorite great uncle now :)

My parents planned to drive up to spend Thanksgiving with us, so we all caravan'ed up together.  Isn't Ben styling!  I think my parents were embarassed, but I think on these crazy long car rides it's hilarious!  Here we are at the Black Bear Diner.

The only picture I took of Thanksgiving.  The food was great, the company wonderful and we all sat at the same table!
