Charlie's been talking a lot about camping.  So, I pulled out the tent Papa (and Gam-Gam) bought Charlie for his second b-day.  I set it up in the sunroom and the boys had a blast!

Reading books and playing around.

After a couple of days he talked Dave into putting it in his room so he could sleep in it at night-time.  Amazingly enough, Charlie slept great, but Ben woke up all 3 nights.  I think it's because he missed sleeping with his brother.  Ben refused to sleep in the tent.

No Training Wheels!

It's May 18th and this is the day we took Charlie's training wheels off his bike.  He'd been asking for a while and we finally decided to give it a try. 

 Take 1-not bad

 After about 7 minutes he said to himself, "This is harder than I thought"

 Then Dave in Special Agent Oso (Disney Channel kid show) style laid it out in 3 simple steps:
Step 1: Put your foot on the pedal that is the highest to get started
Step 2: Watch in front of you and keep pedaling
Step 3: Have Fun!

 Next try after the pep talk and 3 simple steps.

 On the way back he did it!

 Ben pushed cars.

After 15 minutes he's doing it!  That little stinker is riding his bike without training wheels.

We headed down to the park so he could have a little more room to ride.

Can you hear the sudden concern in my voice after he zooms past me and I realize that he's going to have to figure out how to stop.  I had the "please don't let this be my $10,000 America's Funniest Home Video's winning video."  But he did great!  So proud of him!

Boys in May

 Eating some "hard golden eggs."  The boys like them so I've been trying to split up the typical lunch options of sandwiches and quesadillas.

I put on a John Wayne western for Charlie and he decided to get all dressed up like a cowboy, and dragged his horse out of his room too.

Dave's Cinco de Mayo Gig

Throughout the year some guys from church get together to jam (Dave included).  Well, they were asked to play at the Tour de Cure (a diabetes bicycle fundraiser).  The guys practiced weekly and often times twice a week since we've been back from Texas.  Well here they are at the gig.

 Jenny watched Ben for me.  As you can see Charlie thoroughly enjoyed himself.  Thanks Mimi and Poppy Posey for the treat!
