December 2014 Part 2

We drove down to southern California for Christmas this year.  Dave's cousin was getting married at Camp Pendleton on the 20th, so we decided to stay for Christmas.  We love going down and seeing family, but it is crazy busy.  Saturday was the wedding,

Sunday we all went to church in Tustin then gathered at Uncle Stan and Aunt Ivy's house with all the Mealin side for lunch.  This picture is the only one I took (I was busy catching up) it is of my cute nephew Daniel playing with a train!  This was the last picture I took my new camera because the lens would no longer open!  I was so bummed to have to return it and miss out on taking pictures of all the family and fun stuff we were going to do down there.

Sunday night we celebrated our Dascenzi Christmas.  I have no pictures to document because of my lame camera :(

On Monday, we were supposed to visit our dear, sweet friends in San Diego, but Charlie had a fever Sunday night.  I texted Kimmie and told her, she said to contact her in the morning with an update.  Well, Charlie woke up fever-free, but her son had a fever.  We decided to call off our visit and just rest.  We were so disappointed, but it was nice to just have a chill-day.  The bright side is that it gave Dave and I a chance to leave the kids with my parents while we went out and did grocery shopping for the next few days and exchange my camera for a new one.  YAY!

On Tuesday we went to Knott's Berry Farm.  We were gifted free tickets for our family, Katy's family, and my in-laws.  Thank you ROB!!!  We had a great time!  It was the first time we've ever been to an amusement park with Dave's parents and my kids loved riding with them on the rides.

Right when we walked in the gates Snoopy was right there.  Ben was trying to be brave...you can tell he's nervous :)
Daniel and Katy's family with Snoopy and Woodstock

 One of their first rides

Ben was not loving this one, can you tell?  Charlie was nervous, but he's playing tough-guy

The daddy's with the littles True and Teddy.

 Exploring

Waiting in line for the kid roller coaster. We probably only waited 20 minutes, but it felt like an eternity to these two!
Charlie made a friend in line and they decided to ride together :)
Daniel and Ben getting ready for the ride

 CANNOT WAIT!!

Daniel and Ben waiting for it to start.

They all liked it afterwards!
The huff and puff...my favorite ride for them.  They have to work for it and it helps get the wiggles out :)  Charlie and Ben were very competitive about it all.
 Check out Charlie's face

 Daniel enjoying his ride :)

The ferris wheel.  Grandma was very kind to take my place.  Ben asked me, then changed his mind halfway through the line.  Here they go:
Daniel and Daniel are below them
 Ben's silly face
Checking out how it works :)
Cousin Karin, Carolin, and Elizabeth from Alyce's side of the family. They met up with us for a ride and lunch :)

This was one of the best stories from the whole day!  So in front of this little jail is another building with a man.  You walk up to the man and give him names and details like where you're from.  Then inside the jail is a manican who "talks"...it is really the man at the front talking and answering questions.  Grandpops told the man in the front while Dave walked the two boys up.  Charlie and Ben were flabbergasted that he knew their names and where they were from.  It was great.  Then as we were walking away Ben happened to turn around at the front building and heard the man talking.  He just said very matter of factly, Oh that's how it's done.  It was hilarious.  Nothing goes unnoticed by these boys.

These two were fascinated with the Knott's maps.  They wanted to constantly know where we were and where we were headed.

 On the Rio Grande

On the log ride.  It was Ben's first time.

On the mine ride.  True was so excited to finally have a ride he could go on.

I know this picture is terrible, but the kids loved this one!  Pig Pens Mud Racers.

More huff and puff...again check out Charlie's face!
 It's too bad he's not competitive :)

On Wednesday we went to have lunch and spend time with Mamaw, Papaw and all the Sandersons
Picking oranges from Mamaw and Papaw's tree

I managed to capture an orange falling :)

 Cousins
This is Teddy (Theodore) he is absolutely "theodorable"!

 Charlie and all his oranges
 Counting the oranges

"Hmmm...how do you think we can open this gate?"
"seems pretty solid, I don't know if it's going to happen"

Mops bought an inflatable ring toss game for all the kids to play.  They had a great time!  Mops thinks of everything.

These next few pictures are some of my favorite.  I couldn't decide which one I liked the best, so you get to see all of them.  Such a precious moment!

Charlie and I were in another car.
Right outside the theater where we saw Aladdin performed.  It was a really great show!  True was able to fall asleep for 40 minutes and boys were really very entertained the whole time.

Goofy's ride

We left CA Adventures to go to Bible Study, then we headed back to my parent's house.  They had left on Tuesday for Kentucky so we had Grandpops, Mops, Daniel and Katy's family and us at my parent's house for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.  It was so much fun!

 Play room!

We set out the milk, cookies, and carrots, then got all the kids in bed.  Then we adults wrapped and talked.

Poor Teddy had a ROUGH night so he celebrated later in the morning, but Charlie and Ben were ready to go at 6am :)  Here we all are getting ready to go out to see if Santa came.

 He came!  Stockings first.
Ben was really excited about his coke :)

Ben got the spiderman toy he asked for from Santa
Charlie got a Kid Joke Book...it's been really funny so far :)
 All the loot :)
